The official SDKs
The official SunLicense SDKs are open source under the MIT License. You can use, modify and ship them inside your software, including commercial and closed-source software. Each repository's LICENSE file is the authoritative text.
| SDK | Repository | License |
|---|---|---|
| Java | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-java | MIT |
| JavaScript / TypeScript | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-js | MIT |
| Python | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-py | MIT |
| .NET | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-dotnet | MIT |
| PHP | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-php | MIT |
| Lua | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-lua | MIT |
| Rust | sunlicense-com/sunlicense-rust | MIT |
The SDKs have no third-party dependencies, so shipping one adds no other licenses to your software.
The Service and the CLI
SunLicense Cloud (the API, dashboard and services), the sunlicense CLI, the documentation and the website are © SunDevs (Pvt) Ltd, all rights reserved. Your right to use them comes from the Terms of Service. The CLI is free to use with the Service.
Code samples in this documentation may be copied into your own software without restriction or attribution.
Your software and your customers
SunLicense does not license your software to your customers; you do. Your end-user licence agreement (EULA) and privacy policy should tell your customers that the software checks its license online and what it sends. For example:
This software checks its license with SunLicense, a service operated by SunDevs (Pvt) Ltd on our behalf. Each check sends the license key, an identifier of this computer and, if enabled, its hostname. The approximate location of the check (country and city) is recorded; the IP address is not stored. See our privacy policy for details.
Adjust this to match what your software actually sends. The Data processing addendum covers our processing of that data for you.
Trademarks
"SunLicense", "SunDevs" and the SunLicense logo are trademarks of SunDevs (Pvt) Ltd. You may use the name to say truthfully that your software uses SunLicense, but not in a way that suggests we endorse your product.
Other product names and logos shown on our websites, such as programming languages, frameworks and platforms, are trademarks of their respective owners. They are shown only to indicate compatibility and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
