Beta terms
Effective date: 17 October 2026
SunLicense Cloud is in beta. These beta terms add to the Terms of Service for every organization that uses the Service during the beta. When you click "Request access" you accept both. If this page and the Terms disagree about the beta, this page applies.
In short
- There is no SLA and no uptime or support-response commitment during the beta.
- Tell us what's broken or missing: Report a bug in the dashboard, or [email protected].
- A beta offer you were given runs to its end date or for the periods it states, even if the beta ends sooner. After that, normal pricing applies.
1. Joining the beta
Every new organization waits on a whitelist until a SunLicense administrator approves it. We decide who joins and may turn down a sign-up without giving a reason. We may also end an organization's beta access under section 10 of the Terms.
2. No SLA
The beta is offered as is, as described in sections 11 and 12 of the Terms. In particular:
- there is no service-level agreement, uptime commitment or service credit;
- support is best effort, by email, with no guaranteed response time;
- planned maintenance may happen without notice, and outages may happen. Current incidents are shown on status.sunlicense.com.
Build your software so that an outage doesn't stop your customers more than you intend; offline licenses exist for this. Validation is never blocked because of your plan or a beta offer ending (Reliability).
3. Changes during the beta
Features, limits, the dashboard, the APIs and the SDKs may change or be removed while we learn what works. We try to announce changes that break existing integrations in advance, in the dashboard or by email, but we can't always.
We don't plan to wipe data at the end of the beta: products, licenses, customers and settings you create now carry over. Databases are backed up at least daily and backups are kept for up to 30 days (Data retention), but keep your own exports of anything important (Management API).
4. Feedback
Feedback is the point of the beta, and we read all of it.
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Bugs and things that look wrong | Report a bug in the dashboard sidebar, or sunlicense.com/#report-bug |
| Feature ideas, questions, anything else | [email protected] |
| Security vulnerabilities | [email protected] with "Security" in the subject, as described on Security. Please don't report these through the bug form. |
Bug reports may include a screenshot you choose to attach; how we handle them is in the Privacy policy. Don't put license keys, passwords or your customers' personal data in a report. As section 9 of the Terms says, we may use feedback without any obligation to you.
5. Beta offers, and what they turn into after the beta
When we approve your organization we may give it a beta offer. Billing in the dashboard shows the offer while it applies, and the approval email names it. Plans and billing explains how each kind works.
| Offer | During the offer | When it ends |
|---|---|---|
| A plan free until a date | The plan's limits, no card and no charge | Your organization moves to the plan you pay for, or to Free. Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged automatically. |
| A discount code | The discount, for the number of billing periods it states | Your subscription renews at the plan's normal price, which you can see on Plans and billing. |
| A free trial | The plan at no charge for the trial period; Paddle asks for a card at checkout | Paddle charges the card for the plan unless you cancel before the trial ends. |
- An offer runs to its end even if the beta ends first. Ending the beta doesn't shorten a free period, discount or trial you already have.
- An offer belongs to the organization it was given to. It can't be transferred, exchanged for cash, or combined with another offer unless we say so.
- A free trial is offered once per organization.
- If an organization breaches the Terms or the Acceptable use policy, we may end its offer early.
- Paid plans, including after a discount or trial, are billed by Paddle under section 5 of the Terms and are not refunded (Refund policy). Moving to Free never deletes data; if you're over Free's limits you just can't add more until you're under them or upgrade.
6. When the beta ends
We'll announce the end of the beta at least 30 days in advance, in the dashboard or by email. After that these beta terms stop applying, except section 5 for offers that are still running, and the Terms of Service alone apply. Features still labelled beta or preview afterwards stay on the basis in section 4 of the Terms.
